Sheri Werner is a professional educator with over twenty years experience in both the private and public sector. She co-founded a private, K-8th grade school where she served as Head of School for fifteen years before diving into public education as the Founding Principal of The City School in Los Angeles (6-8th grades).
Sheri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies along with a Masters of Science degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling. She also earned a Pupil Personnel Services counseling credential.
Sheri’s passion lies in working with educators, parents, and children. She is a highly experienced school leader who has worked tirelessly to support the development and maintenance of socially, emotionally, and cognitively safe schools for all students and adults.
A parent and zealous advocate for children of all ages, Sheri regularly conducts lectures, workshops, and teacher training on student-centered educational practices, social-emotional learning (SEL), and holistic parenting education. Her unique approach to connecting with children and parents has proven extremely effective in supporting their growth and development.
Sheri has had many articles published for educators and parents. Her book, “In Safe Hands: Bullying Prevention With Compassion For All,” was published in 2012 and addresses the necessity of creating social and emotional safety in addition to academic excellence in every school environment.
